The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada (aka The Center) has announced a call for donations for its fifth annual Pride Art Show and Silent Auction to be held April 26.
The community-based organization is looking for art work on the theme “Y(our) Pride is Showing.” The theme can be widely interpreted and used in a number of media, including painting and sculpture (under 70 lbs.). While artists may enter work unrelated to the theme, only art related to the theme will be eligible for judging. A panel of jurors will award a first, second and third place prize.
Artists may submit up to three pieces of art and are encouraged to sell their work at the show. They may also donate one piece of work (separate from their three entires) to the silent auction.
The application is due by 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1. It may be faxed to (702) 733-9075 or emailed to [email protected]
The center will accept deliveries of accepted artwork from Thursday, April 17 through Thursday April 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. No artwork will be accepted on the day of the show. Art may be picked up immediately after the show, on Monday April 28 or on Monday May 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Artwork left 30 days after the deadline will become The Center’s property.
