New Report Claims LDS Church Spent More on Prop 8 than Reported

Listen to this article

The American News Project released a report that they have uncovered evidence that “may expose a gaping hole” in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ claim that they spent only a few thousand dollars on their efforts to pass California’s Proposition 8, defining marriage as only between a man and woman.

ANP says in the report that they were able to obtain transcripts and audio of an hour-long satellite conference broadcast to churches across the states of California and Utah. In the transcripts, church leaders lay out their plans of producing internet Web sites, television advertising campaigns, yard signs and phone banks. None of these expenditures appeared on reports submitted to the state of California.
