The Utah Pride Center will sponsor the 11th annual Center Golf Classic this August. Registration is now open and sponsorship packets are available. Proceeds from the tournament will fund Center programming and services.

The Utah Pride Center is asking attendees at this year’s Utah Pride Festival to give feedback about their experiences in a survey located at utahpridecenter.org. Participants will be entered tow in one of two $100 gift certificates to Gastronomy, Inc. restaurants.
A ‘Taste’ of Square Dancing
Temple Squares, Utah’s only gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender square dancing group, will hold a free evening of square dancing for beginners this August. The group teaches “gender neutral” dancing (meaning that people can dance in any position regardless of gender identity) set to pop music. It is open to singles, couples and groups of friends of any sexual orientation or gender identity. Later in the evening, caller Ross Lopton will teach lessons in more advanced square dancing.

Fall Softball Registration
Registration ends Aug. 8 for teams planning to participate in the Salt Lake City Pride League’s fall games. Play will commence Aug. 23 on Monday nights at Jordan Park’s southwest field. To register a team, visit the Salt Lake County Sports Office at 5201 South Murray Park Lane in Murray (behind Best Buy) or email [email protected] for registration forms and info. A fee for each team is required. If a team needs players or if you are an individual looking for a team to join, contact [email protected] you’re your name, sex, contact information and the positions you play.
Camping with sWerve
Lesbian social and civic group sWerve will hold its annual campout Aug. 20–22 at Blackhawk Campground (off the Nebo Loop near Payson Lake). The weekend includes one meal, lawn games, children’s events, hiking and a fireside jam.
Cost: Tickets are $25 per camper 14 and over, $10 for campers age 3–13 and $10 for the Saturday dinner and can be purchased at the sWerve website. There is also a $6 per vehicle charge at the campground, so sWerve recommends that campers carpool.
