Diva, gay icon, award-winning actress, singer and writer Diana Ross will be sashaying her way through Utah at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City this fall. In a recently released press statement, the Utah stop for Sept. 19 was announced. Tickets will go on sale May 13 at 10 a.m. through Smiths Tix outlets.
Ross has won eight American Music Awards, 12 Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe Award and a Tony Award for her various musical and on-screen performances. Before embarking on her solo career in 1970, she was the lead singer for the Motown group, The Supremes. She has sold more than 100 million records and has recorded 18 number one Billboard hits.
In 1976, Billboard named her the female entertainer of the century. With iconic gay anthems, such as “I’m Coming Out,” Ross has solidified a place in diva, drag queen and gay history.
“The one and only Diana Ross will perform her greatest hits in a multi-city spectacular live show. Ms. Ross will be pulling out all the stops with breathtaking costumes and stage designs, along with a live string and horn section,” the press release about the tour said.
