Biskupski resigns Utah House seat

The first openly-lesbian member of the Utah Legislature will announce today that she is resigning her Utah House of Representatives seat effective immediately.

Rep. Jackie Biskupski, D-Salt Lake “is leaving the Legislature voluntarily and will discuss her decision at a news conference today. House Minority Leader David Litvack will join her,” wrote Holly Mullen, House Democrat communications coordinator.

Biskupski was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in November 1998, serving 13 years in the Legislature. She and her partner recently adopted a child.
