ROTC-SLC to hold open house

The Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps of Salt Lake City will host their first practice/open house of the year. Logan Brueck, director of the award-winning group reminds us “no experience is needed to join.”

“However, because of the nature of some of our shows and our sponsors, a prospective member needs to be 18 years of age or older.” Brueck notes that a minor must be accompanied by an adult.

He also notes virtual members can participate as well. “This year, we will be hosting virtual members. Members who live more than 30 miles from Salt Lake City or even out of state can join. These members learn the drills via the Internet and/or DVD, plus limited group practices.

“ROTC-SLC had four virtual members last year, and it looks we will have more this year,” Brueck added.

As part of the dynamic group, members will work a flag line, rifle line, baton line and saber line. “Plus, we are looking at kicking off our dance flag line this year – keep your fingers crossed,” Brueck said.

Brueck says anyone wanting to participate should arrive early to the open house. “The doors remain locked,” he said. “Please be there early so that you can get into the school and escorted to the gym.”

WHEN: Sunday, Feb. 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
