David Levithan, co-author of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, will be in Salt Lake City for a book signing, Oct. 15, of his new young-adult novel, Every Day. Having received the Lambda Literary Award in 2003 with his debut, Boy Meets Boy, Levithan has secured a place of notoriety among the LGBT communities of our country.
In the few years since BMB, Levithan has scribed (some solely, others under collaboration) a stack of young-adult fiction, often revolving around unusual and thought-provoking gay protagonists, such as in Playlist, Wide Awake and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. However, in Every Day, the main character(s) is literally indeterminate, hopefully allowing for even the slightest sense of a connection between the 16-year-old character, simply called A, and the reader. Deemed a taut exploration of identity, Levithan’s new work of fiction, may yet be another insightful and uplifting journey of hope for all people coming of age … .
Levithan is also the editorial director at Scholastic press and is the founding editor of PUSH, a young-adult imprint of Scholastic press. His book signing will take place Oct. 15, 7 p.m., King’s English Bookshop, 1511 S. 1500 East. For more details call 801-484-9100 or email [email protected].
