OgdenOUTreach LGBT Resource Center volunteer coordinator, Jackson Carter, made it as one of the top five contestants of the reality television show “The Biggest Loser” and, tonight, America found out that he will compete against one of the other contestants for a spot to win the show’s top prize.
Starting out at 328 pounds, the 21-year-old Carter is now down to 235 for a total of 93 pounds lost through a combination of healthy eating and exercise.
“I’m finally in the right space in my head and in my body, and I can now achieve whatever I want to,” Jackson said as tonight’s show wrapped up.
Carter is up against fellow contestant Joe Ostaszewski, a 43-year-old sales executive from Williston, Fla.
To vote, go to nbc.com/the-biggest-loser/vote/. Ten votes per email address are allowed.
OgdenOUTreach created a video in support of Carter, telling people to, “Be strong … vote for Jackson Carter.”
The live finale will happen Monday night at 7pm MDT on local NBC affiliate, KSL, Channel 5. The winner of the vote will go up against the top two contestants.
A celebration is also planned for Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Ben Lomond Hotel in downtown Ogden.
A full interview with Carter will be in the next print edition of QSaltLake, which will be out on shelves Feb. 21.
