The Utah Pride Center has put out a call for community members to join the organization’s board of directors. The board is the governing body of the Center and members have a fiduciary duty to the organization pursuant to state law.

The board consists of between 4 to 21 directors, including the president, vice president, treasurer, parliamentarian and secretary as executive committee. Voting and non-voting members may be appointed as is required or desired from time to time.

“With all of the changes happening at the Utah Pride Center, we are excited to open up the board application process to the entire community,” said John Netto, board president. “We are confident that we will not only receive applicants from all intersections of the community, but also a diverse pool of people to help guide the Center through the upcoming years.”

The duties of the directors varies from ensuring the organization’s financial resources are properly managed, recruiting and evaluating the executive director, and assisting with fundraising and planning for the entire organization.

More information is available on the group’s bylaws.

Applicants are asked to complete the board application.
