Equality Utah holding ‘Sharing Our Stories’ reception at Utah Capitol tonight

The Sharing Our Stories Reception is being hosted by Equality Utah tonight to meet with legislators one-on-one and share why SB 100 matters to you.

The reception will begin with a short introduction by Troy Williams, executive director of Equality Utah. He will introduce three members and allies of the LGBT community who will present their stories and then open up the reception to general mingling. Refreshments and music will be provided. This event is no cost and is open to the public.

“Legislators are invited to attend as long or as little as their schedule will allow. We will have a short program with three speakers, but we’ll also have the audience filled with people who have faced discrimination in either housing or employment,” said Williams. “We hope that the less formal reception will allow people to mingle freely and engage in meaningful conversations.”

Several legislators have affirmed they will make it, Williams said.

When: Feb. 24, 5:30–7 p.m.
Where: Room 210 of the Senate Building (East Building of the Utah State Capitol Complex)
