On the heels of a recently released New York Times/SCRUFF survey that ranked Salt Lake City as one of the top 5 “Surprisingly Gay Friendly Travel Destinations” across the globe – and as The Advocate has also named Salt Lake City the #8 Queerest City in America, Johnny Skandros, founder of the SCRUFF app, will be coming to SLC to host a special SCRUFF BEER BUST – connecting with Utah members face to face on Friday November 4th at Club Jam (751 N. 300 West). Skandros is also in town as part of an initiative to bring awareness to “BenvolAds” – a SCRUFF platform that allows LGBTQ non-profit organizations to advertise for free within the app.

The SCRUFF BEER BUST will feature music by DJ FLAME FATALE and Host Johnny SCRUFF and the SCRUFF team will dance the night away while giving out tons of free SCRUFF Swag! Club Jam will be serving $10 draft beer pitchers all night.

The recently released survey pertaining to gay travel and conducted in conjunction with the New York Times released data that ranked Salt Lake City, Utah as the #5 “off the beaten path” or “surprisingly gay friendly” travel destination in the world, tying with Capetown, South Africa and Willemstead, Curacao. The ranking also indicated positivity pertaining to safety in destinations with a history of anti-LGBT discrimination.
