Broadway at the Eccles announces 2018-19 season

The 2018-2019 Zions Bank Broadway at the Eccles season unveiled a six-show season package which includes Waitress, Come From AwayFinding Neverland, Disney’s Aladdin, School of Rock – The Musical, and the 20th Anniversary Tour of RENT. Additionally, the long-awaited return of Wicked and The Book of Mormon joins the season as special add-on engagements.

“Broadway is having a moment,” said Bruce Granath, Broadway Across America vice president. “I cannot remember a time when there were so many wonderful, inventive, and popular shows on tour, on Broadway and coming to Broadway. We are thrilled to bring so many of them to the Eccles Theater on this season.”

Sep. 25–30, 2018

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly’s beloved film,Waitress tells the story of Jenna — a waitress and expert pie maker, Jenna dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.

Come From Away
Nov. 6–11, 2018

The New York Times Critics’ Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed, and nerves ran night, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude turned into enduring friendships. Don’t miss this breathtaking new musical helmed by this year’s Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley.

Finding Neverland
Dec. 4–9, 2018

School of Rock
May 28–June 2, 2019

School of Rock is a New York Times Critics’ Pick. Based on the hit film, this hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher who turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. This high-octane smash features 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, all the original songs from the movie and musical theater’s first-ever kid’s rock band playing their instruments live on stage.  

RENT 20th Anniversary Tour
June 25–30, 2019
