Utah Pride Spectacular silent auction is open

Listen to this article

The Utah Pride Spectacular, usually a swank dinner with a program that attracts over a thousand donors, will be an online event because of the Coronavirus pandemic. And rather than the silent auction taking place on that one night, it is now up and running and will be for the next three days.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the work of the Utah Pride Center.

The full auction can be found here. Currently, items range from a $40 donation to $2,500.

The auction will close on Friday, June 5th at 5 p.m. and winners will be announced that night at the online Spectacular.

Some examples of what is being auctioned:

Trevor Southey Painting

This beautiful hand-colored etching was originally commissioned by the American Cancer Society in 1992. Southey’s vision of hope is just as meaningful and important today. The print features a daffodil, an outstretched hand that symbolizes more than one possibility, and a covering which represents comfort and protection. Bring Hope to your home with this unique and beautiful piece of artwork. This is labeled as an artist’s proof.

Dinner with the ED

Enjoy a lovely night with you and six friends at Utah Pride Center Executive Director Rob Moolman’s home for what he promises will be a delicious home-cooked meal and lively conversation.

Social Distancing Block Party with Mona Stevens

Bring the entire block together (while staying at least 6 feet apart) with an outdoor block party performance by Utah Pride Center Board Chair Mona Stevens. Mona will stop by to do an acoustic set in your garage, front porch, or driveway. Invite your neighbors to pull up a chair and experience a socially distant concert from the UPC resident rockstar.

Banff National Park Opportunity Drawing

You have a 1 in 300 chance of winning a trip for 4 Days/3 Nights at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Banff, a resort town in Alberta, Canada located within Banff National Park. The peaks of Mt. Rundle and Mt. Cascade, part of the Rocky Mountains, dominate its skyline. On Banff Avenue, the main thoroughfare, boutiques, and restaurants mix with château-style hotels and souvenir shops. 300 tickets will be sold for only $50.

A 1-Year Supply of Hand Sanitizer

The world may be filthy, but you don’t have to be with this year-long supply of hand sanitizer donated by Mark Miller Subaru.

Fun in the Sun Gift

Can’t wait to get out and enjoy some fun in the summer sun? This gift basket is for you. Keep cool and flaunt your Pride with these fun and fabulous items. This bag includes a total of 38 items including rainbow hand-fans, beverage holders, giant bubble wands, a beach towel, sunglasses, and much more.

Again, 100 percent of proceeds will go directly towards funding the critical, life-saving resources of the Utah Pride Center.
