The Eccles’ first concert in a year

Listen to this article

It’s finally time to head to Eccles Theater! The jewel of Salt Lake’s arts will open with MagicSpace’s tribute to the Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. And in a silver lining of the pandemic, we’ll see all of these performers — Utahns who have had starring roles on Broadway and world stages — sharing the spotlight back in Salt Lake. For most, this is their first return to the stage in over a year.

Andrew Lloyd Webber fast-tracked the approvals as part of his effort to get stages across the world open again and jump-start the return of the arts.

We are excited to grab dinner, enjoy a show in a theater, and go for drinks after. On covid safety: these shows will be performed with limited capacity audiences, social distancing, and all recommended health and safety measures, including a mask requirement.

Director Louanne Madorma and music director Kurt Bestor will lead the cast, including Utah’s only Tony Award-winning, Grammy Award-nominated soprano Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller, Sony recording artist LEXI Walker, Emmy-nominated David Osmond, and singer Dallyn Vail Bayles. The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber will feature iconic songs from his most popular shows, including “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Cats,” “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Evita,” and more.

Tickets are $45 through ArtTix at saltlakecountyarts.org
