
Discussion of AI regulation, AI film screenings Thursday
An expert panel on AI and film short screenings will take place Thursday, August 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Industry SLC, 650 South 500 West, Salt Lake. Admission is free, and audience discussion is encouraged.
Panel discussion: “Should we Regulate AI?”
Soon ChatGPT-5 and similar will be capable of talking, creating videos, and performing complex jobs. The pressing question is: How do we ensure our jobs, values, and education remain intact while safeguarding privacy, peace, and freedom?
AI panelists will include industry professionals, filmmakers, professors, and policy experts such as author and University of Utah professor Rogelio E. Cardona-Rivera, Daitaku chief AI strategist Jepson “Ben” Taylor, and international AI visionaries Christobal Ross (Chile), Joachim Peter (Germany), and Udesh Chetty (South Africa).
