West Valley City to celebrate its first Pride in June
West Valley City is set to host its very first Pride event this summer. Scheduled for Saturday, June 28, the inaugural West Valley City Pride will take place at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center — an iconic hub for community engagement and cultural expression.
From noon to 6 p.m., the UCCC will transform into a vibrant festival space honoring the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Attendees can expect a full day of joy and connection, featuring live music and performances, a wide variety of food vendors, interactive art, and a marketplace of local creators and small businesses. It’s more than a party — it’s a celebration of identity, resilience, and belonging.
As Utah’s second-largest city and one of its most racially and culturally diverse, West Valley City’s decision to hold its first Pride event is historic.
“[West Valley Pride is] more than just a celebration, this event is a reflection of the unique culture of West Valley City — a diverse, dynamic community where people from all backgrounds come together to create something truly special,” organizers said in a statement. “Join us as we make history and honor the beauty of pride, progress, and unity of West Valley City.”
Neutral Ground
A standout element of the event is “Neutral Ground,” a unique pop-up clothing shop that offers free gender-affirming and identity-affirming apparel. This initiative was developed in response to community feedback and is aimed at empowering individuals who may not have access to clothing that aligns with their gender expression. By removing economic barriers and creating a safe space for exploration, Neutral Ground embodies the very heart of what Pride should be: freedom, dignity, and self-love.
“This initiative is all about self-expression and ensuring that everyone has access to clothing that makes them feel confident,” organizers said.

A community-driven effort
West Valley City Pride is entirely community-focused and volunteer-driven. Organizers have made a point to include local LGBTQ+ artists, speakers, performers, and small businesses to reflect the city’s cultural tapestry. There will also be resource booths providing information on health services, youth programs, mental wellness, housing, and more, emphasizing that Pride is not only about celebration but also about community care.
