World AIDS Day events
‘Longtime Companion’
In honor of World AIDS Day please join the Salt Lake Public Library, Salt Lake Valley Health Department and the Utah Pride Center for a balloon release to acknowledge those infected with HIV and to make a pledge to protect against infection. This will be followed by a screening of the film Longtime Companion and a panel discussion.

No One’s Stigma: Open Mic
The Utah Pride Center’s Prevention Team, Sugarhouse Coffee and Planned Parenthood Teen Council present World AIDS Day Open Mic to fight against stigma and empower through creative expression. The open-mic event will end with a candlelight vigil honoring those who passed away of AIDS.

Salt Lake City Presentation and Ceremony
To honor the day, Salt Lake City is hosting its third annual presentation and ceremony. Mayor Becker, the Salt Lake City Council, the Utah AIDS Foundation and the People with AIDS Coalition of Utah will gather for a special World AIDS Day resolution presentation and ceremony.

Day Without Art
The Day Without Art is a response by local artists, galleries, activists, and community groups to the increasing personal loss of lives due to HIV/AIDS. The Art Access/VSA Utah will participate in the Day Without Art as part of the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll.

World AIDS Day Breakfast
Come see how to make a difference in the lives of those affected by HIV and AIDS. The World AIDS Day Life Fund breakfast is a free event that is a chance to share the vision of HIV prevention and client services offered by the Utah AIDS Foundation.
